The Adaptive Fly Fishing Institute is dedicated to the education and certification of fly fishing instructors, guides, medical professionals, educators, and other service providers in order to ensure the highest possible quality of service to the special needs community.

The art and science of adaptive recreation is perhaps best defined as helping the disabled participant to find the appropriate balance between safety and comfort and the maximum level of independent function at which they can participate in the activity.

Therapeutic recreation is the use of recreational activities to enhance clinical and alternative therapies and rehabilitation.
